New chickens!

Monday was a big day with the arrival of four new 'point of lay' chickens to join the other three chickens and five ducks living here. Our friend and mentor, Andrew introduced the new arrivals, clipped their wings and helped Joy to settle them in.

 

Since their arrival 'The new girls' have been laying and are now venturing out into the garden. We never knew that chickens could be so friendly and inquisitive. They even put themselves back to bed at night in the hen house.

 

We are hoping that they will be laying on the eggs for guests in 2016.
